Easiest Chicken Teriyaki Nuggets – Fit Foodie Finds

Sometimes you want to just press the easy button for weeknight dinners, and this crispy chicken teriyaki served over vibrant greens is exactly that! This recipe calls for store-bought frozen chicken nuggets tossed in your favorite store-bought teriyaki sauce and then served over a bed of vibrant greens tossed in a light and bright homemade dressing.

High protein, high fiber, low carb! What’s not to love.

I love making this recipe when I’m already making chicken nuggets for the kids! It’s basically a grown up chicken nugget recipe that I keep coming back to again and again.

Ingredients You Need

Broccoli orange salad: You’ll need broccoli, red onion, shelled edamame, orange slices, fresh ginger and toss it all in a simple dressing of rice vinegar, lime juice, sesame oil and sesame seeds. Simple, easy and so incredibly flavorful.

Chicken nuggets: Feel free to use your favorite store-bought frozen chicken nuggets. I love using Just Bare Lightly Breaded Chicken Breast Chunks, but there is also no shame in tossing your kids dino nuggets in teriyaki sauce for this recipe — I’ve done it more times than I can count!

Teriyaki sauce: Store-bought teriyaki sauce is another easy button for this recipe. If you’d like to make your own teriyaki sauce, my homemade teriyaki recipe is perfectly sweet and delicious.

How to Get the Crispiest Chicken Teriyaki

The air fryer! It’s quick, easy and always delicious. Most store-bought frozen chicken nuggets have air fryer instructions on the back of the package, so all you need to do is follow the instructions, and then toss the chicken nuggets in teriyaki sauce before serving.

More Semi-Homemade Recipes

  • Add rice vinegar, sesame oil, lime juice, and grated ginger to the bottom of a large bowl. Whisk to combine.

  • Add the broccoli, red onion, oranges, edamame, salt, and sesame seeds to the bowl and toss the ingredients together. Be sure all of the ingredients are coated in the sauce. Cover and place in the refrigerator. The longer the broccoli sits in the sauce, the easier it will be to eat.

  • Add the chicken to an air fryer and cook for 6-8 minutes at 375ºF or until golden brown. Remove and toss with teriyaki sauce.

  • Remove the broccoli salad from the fridge and top the salad with the cooked chicken, and enjoy immediately.

  • I recommend cooking the chicken nuggets from frozen in the air fryer.
  • The type of teriyaki sauce you use will determine the flavor of your chicken.
  • If you would like the sauce to be spicy, add a few teaspoons of gochugang, chili crisp, or chili garlic sauce.
